Good day ladies!!

This post is dedicated to the ladies! As you all know I take my blog ideas from everyday experiences and from issues I or my fellow ladies deal with. One I have been REALLY getting a lot of lately is the inability of many women to put themselves on the front burner. (incuding myself)

Many of us ladies wear a ton of hats. We are lawyers, doctors, nurses, housekeepers, psychiatrists, etc----all before we ever leave the house!! Let alone having outside careers an being girlfriends, daughters, sisters, aunts, etc, etc, etc. Whew!!! Its tiring to just name all the roles we play, let alone what we actually do! Its interesting to me though how we can do and be all these things and not feel deservant of our own TLC!

We all experience this, i.e. feeling guilty when you buy yourself something nice, not taking or making the time to go to the salon (let alone the spa), turning down girlfriend get aways because you cant get away even though you have a perfectly capable man at home (or a perfectly capable mother, aunt, sister, need I go on?). While our families and careers are terribly important , we need to understand that we cannot be the best if we dont take time for ourselves. All the magazines we read aren't teaching us ways to "beat stress" for nothing!

Stress is the leading cause of many ailments women face daily ( headaches, migranes, hair loss, overeating, heart conditions, heavy periods, etc). In order to be our best selves we just have to put ourselves first sometimes. And you cant leave it up to your family or your job to allow you time. Sometimes you have to take it! The importanat thing is make time for yourself and if you dont see how that can be possible, think of all the times you have had to make time for a family member, a child or think of those times you had to go to work during your off time. You had to make time then, so do the same for yourself. Aren't you worth it?

Great ideas for pampering yourself :

- get a manicure or refill during your lunchbreak

- check into a great hotel solo that boasts a great spa and enjoy ALL hotel amenities

- send everybody away and indulge in a fragrant and relaxing bubble bath

-have a girlfriend night! The best rest and relaxation is sometimes gotten in the company of your best girls! (Not to mention free therapy!) Order some home pedicures, pop the cork and have a blast!

- go to websites like honeycat.com and lush.com to get some great "pamper yourself" products (these are 2 of my favorite sites)

Create your own ides and take pride in showing love and appreciation for yourself. If you dont show love and appreciation for yourself, how can you expect others to?

Until next time ladies!!

A Little Down in Your Spirit?

Hello All!

So right now, I'm feeling a little down. I am feeling like I am not up to par with where I should be. I am feeling unorganized and out of sorts. (Mind you, I realize that this isnt my normal kind of enry but I somehow felt the need to come this way today, so bear with me.) In the midst of my feeling this way, I am wondering what lesson I am supposed to learn from this.

Well, I am always disappointed in myself when I let life TEMPORARILY get the better of me but let me say this: Its ok to feel bad sometimes. Being human means we are not always gonna be happy and upbeat, its just a fact. But it is in times like this that we must go into a deep mode of thought. While in this mode, we need to not only figure out the problem but the answer to it. We must also think about GOD and His word. In these times we need to fall on the promises of God. He has promised "never to leave or forsake us". He has also promised to be "an ever-present help in our time of need." David said in Psalms 23 that, " The Lord is my shepherd and I shall not want." I could go on and on but the bottom line is, no matter where we are in life, our God is there too. Whether its your fault or somebody else's God is there and unlike people, God doesnt leave our side when we mess up or get in messed up predictaments. He is there and will always be there.

So if this blog entry has found you in this state of mind today, please reflect on what I have said and be thankful. Why? Because we can do and overcome anything because of our ever-present God!!!

Be Blessed!!

Important For Anyone with a Vison!!!

"Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it

For the visionis yet for an
appointed time:
But at the end it will speak, and
it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry.

Have You Forgotten?

I love listening to other ladies talk. As strange as it sounds, I love when a bunch of ladies sit around and vent. Believe it or not, it is a sort of therapy to just..........get it all out. You would also be suprised at what we learn from each other when we just.........talk.

It was during one of these times, that I heard a very driven young woman talk about why she stopped doing hair. You see, doing hair is her absolute passion. She usually cant speak a single sentence without bringing up something concerning hair. As talented as she is, she said that she will "no longer be a hairdresser". When asked why, her first answer was that it was too stressful, then she said her money was never steady. I knew that if she kept talking she would give us the real reason, which..........she did. "Ya'll, lately nothing has gone right. People have been complaining, new things are coming out everyday, my confidence is off, I just cant do it anymore!"She was overwhelmed! Circumstances rattled her confidence and she allowed her dip in her confidence to take her eyes off of her vision and down to her problems.

This scenario reminds me of the bible story where Peter attemted to walk on water to Jesus ( Matthew 14:24-33). His vision was to walk on water to Jesus but as he walked, he lost focus on his vision and began to focus on the winds and the storms. As he lost his focus, he began to sink! But my favorite part of the story is the fact that Peter wasnt afraid to yell out "Lord, save me!" The very moment Peter yelled for Christ, was the very moment Christ saved him from drowning! The whole act was of faith to begin with! The very act of walking on water was unheard of! But Peter's faith and fixation on Jesus made it possible! As long as his eye was focused on Jesus he walked but the very moment a distraction came, he lost focus! Jesus made everything possible from the time he stepped out of the boat but he breifly "forgot".

Have you forgotten? Have stressful times taken your focus? A dip in sales? No previous successes? Somebody told you you couldnt or that you were not worthy? Has your self-esteem taken a beating? Please. Dont for get where you are going and who is getting you there! And dont be afraid to YELL out for help!! He is waiting to help you!! He is waiting to pull you up and out and calm your storm.

This is 2010 yall! The Lord didnt bring us this far to leave us now!! We can have it becuase God told us it is ours!!! Don't let any body's mouth, fear, low self- esteem, lack of money, ..........Don't let any of these things stop you this year! Yell out to your Saviour to help you and He will!

To the best year yet!!!!

An Incredible Promise from God!

Fear not! For I am with you. Be not dismayed (worried, scared, sad); for I am your God; I will strengthen you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.

Isaiah 41:10

Awesome!!!!!!

Who Defines Your Future?

Thank God that 'people' dont define our success and our futures!
Many times in life peole will go out of their way to put you in a box by speaking negatively of your plans, throwing your past in your face, tearing you down in any way they can, etc.
Some do this because they dont understand what you are doing, others do it because they are afraid of change and are in a box themselves and some do it simply because they dont want to see you prosper. (Isnt it crazy that some peole honestly feel that they are the only ones that should be doing anything with their lives?)

The devil's plan is to stunt your growth. His aim is to make you feel as though your are not good enough to change, you have done too much wrong to recieve the beautiful things you desire, you aren't beautiful or artculate enough....... He wants to implant this TRASH into your head because he knows that the book of Proverbs tell us that whatsoever we think, we are. (Yes, he knows the bible too!) But he is a LIE!! YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH! Why? Because God made you! The same God that created Barack Obama created you! The same God that created Tyler Perry created you! The same God that created Martin Luther King created you! The same God that created the birds, flowers, trees, fingers, toes, arms, legs, .............I could go on and on....... but this is who created you and this is who decides your fate, not what someone says! God even made the mouth that spoke the TRASH! So really, come on!

Whatever God has placed in your heart, Go For it!!! Dont deny yourself your dreams! God has already promised us the desires of our hearts if we put Him first! The devil is a liar and God is the TRUTH!!!

Happiness............

Hello Everyone!

I have found that happiness is a choice. If we sit around and wait on someone or something to make us happy, we are fightng a losing battle. You can make the choice to be miserable or you can depend on God to help you take charge of your life in order to make it what you want it to be. I choose to live a happy and successful life! How about you?

Have a beautiful week!
